Everything you need to know for a fantastic day at the Yass Picnic Races!

Is the Yass Picnic Races a BYO event?

Yes, the Yass Picnic Races is a BYO event. There is no public bar on site, and you are welcome to bring any type of alcohol, whether in glass or plastic containers.

Will food be available at the event?

There will be limited food outlets available on site, so we encourage you to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy with your friends and family. If you are travelling, you can organise fresh sandwiches and snacks from any of the local cafes in Yass before you arrive.

Can I book a marquee for the event?

Yes, marquees must be pre-arranged, allocated, and paid for at least 14 days prior to race day. Please note that there are no refunds for marquee bookings within 14 days of the event. However, if you need to cancel, we will assist in trying to resell your booking if we have a waiting list.

Is there TAB and bookmaker availability on site?

Yes, there are approximately 10 bookmakers on site, along with interstate bookies and screens for major TAB meets. We encourage you to support the bookmakers and their businesses during the event.

Can I purchase tickets at the gate?

Yes, tickets will be available at the gate on the day of the event. Both cash and EFTPOS payment options will be available.

What are the transport and parking options?

Parking is available on site, and a free shuttle bus service is provided to and from the racetrack, with drop-offs and pick-ups at Yass main street.

Is there shade available trackside?

There is a long, open stretch of grass trackside for race viewing; however, shade can be limited. We recommend bringing sun protection to ensure you stay sun safe throughout the day.
